MicroMasters: Instructional Design & Technology
Hi, my name is Kristi and I am designing an online portfolio to support a MicroMasters in Instructional Design & Technology through EdX and the University Of Maryland. I have been a teacher and Instructional Coach in the PreK-12 setting for the past 18 years. I have experience working with students of all ages along with teachers, paraprofessionals, student teachers, and administration. In my role as an Instructional Coach, I have helped develop and implement SRG (standards-referenced-grading). Within this process I have worked with teachers on understanding standards, developing aligned assessments, and creating engaging curricula to ensure standards-assessment-instruction alignment. This has included working on designing engaging PBL (project-based learning) and WBL (work-based learning) experiences. We are currently in the process of designing cross-curricular Social Studies/ ELA integrated units. My hope in taking this class was to gain skills in helping me further develop instructional curriculum design to incorporate engaging and meaningful opportunities for the online and blended learning environment.
